Captains update April 2011

The season has started and the recent weather has been good allowing the course to recover from the winter spell.
The greens are slow to recover but the greenkeeper has put a programme together to repair the winter damage.
Our first open the Gents am-am takes place on the 23rd April and we hope for a good day.
Can I request that the members take some responsibility and repair any divot marks on the greens and ensure we keep the course in a fine condition.

Hope you enjoy your season and lets try and encourage more members to join.

Captain's update

Hello,
The weather at the start of 2010 was not suitable for golf - pretty to look at but not great for the club. The course has recovered well and got back to it's best and the outings continue to come.
We upgraded to the downstairs lounge of the clubhouse and looking good, hopefully there will be further improvements at the end of this season.
Changes in personnel have taken place - Lewis left to be the Kildrummy Gardener assistant and we have replaced him with our new apprentice 'Jayden Taylor'. Jayden has now passed his probation period at I am pleased to say that both Jayden and the Club have agreed to further his career. He will soon be attending college to gain his Greenkeeping qualifications.
The season is coming to an end but our social committee keeps going with a 'Race night' planned for the 9th October, come and try it out and do not forget to get ready for Golfs Winter Sweep, you will be surprised.
Lastly, our thoughts go to Bob and Hazel.
Yours Johnstone
